IS PHILBROOK ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?

We have some pretty loyal fans around the country. And it's always great to hear from former Tulsans or those who have traveled here before about how much they love and miss Philbrook. But who would have thought that we would end up as a "bucket list" item.
Check out what was posted on our Facebook today...
"I miss the Philbrook. From St. Louis to Los Angeles, the Philbrook is the museum of art that comes to mind when the subject comes up. Of all the things to do before one dies, going to the Philbrook should be on that list." -Tempie Roberts
Thank you, Tempie. What an honor.

THE LOANER
We have just installed a wonderful new piece in our elevator lobby.
The work is a late, great (and big) black-and-white painting by American modernist Stuart Davis (1892-1964). It is on loan to us for two years from a foundation in New York City. The Vilcek Foundation supports the arts and biomedical research.
Next time you visit, take a moment and have a look. It is superb!

A RARE FIND
While visiting Gardener's today to pick up some books for our activity portion of the upcoming 3rd Thursday, we stumbled upon a little book called "Tenderfoot". We thought to ourselves, "That looks so familiar". Lo and behold, it was the same book Thomas Allen used for one of his pieces. What a strange coincidence!
We hope you can join is on Thursday at 5:30 to see how he goes from one thing to the other. It will be lots of fun.
